The Davenport Jaycees

2012 Jaycees Board

President - Melissa Shafer

Vice-President of Membership - Kimberly Mayo

Vice-President of Management - Stella O'Rourke

Stella has been a member of the Davenport Jaycees since 2006, but was first exposed to the organization through the 2005 Haunted House. She is an active member and has held two other board positions. Originally having joined the Jaycees to meet new people after graduation, Stella has formed some of her greatest friendships at meetings and different events held throughout the years. Stella also serves as the co-chair for the annual Bridal Expo, having helped for seven years and co-chaired for three. Stella is a 2005 and 2007 graduate of St. Ambrose University with a Bachelors in English and History and a Masters in Organizational Leadership. She currently works at SAU in campus ministry organizing local, national and international service trips and projects. There are a lot of favorite memories for this Jaycee, but at the top are winning Rookie of the Year her first year of membership, the Cubs bus trip, and winning awards for the Bridal Expo.

Vice-President of Public Relations & Marketing - Heather Venema

Heather joined the Davenport Jaycees in 2002 at a River Bandits M-Night. Heather graduated from St. Ambrose with a bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Marketing Communications in 2006, and completed her Masters in Organizational Leadership in December of 2008. Heather was President of the chapter in 2009 and 2010, and co-chaired the 2011 and 2012 Bridal Expos. To Heather, the Jaycees create a great opportunity to blend the components of service and social activities - something other organizations in the Quad Cities don't have. Heather was Jaycee of the Year for Davenport in 2010, and currently works at an advertising agency in downtown Davenport.

Vice-President of Community Development - April Boyer

Vice-President of Individual Development - Alana Carroll

Alana joined the Davenport Jaycees after participating in the first Scavenger Hunt M-Night. Although her team didn’t win, she had a great time, especially since she was the designated eater at each bar! Alana graduated from St. Ambrose University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2005 and her master’s in Accounting from the University of Iowa in 2006. Alana works for Deloitte Tax providing tax services for clients throughout the area. Some of her hobbies are reading, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family. Alana’s favorite thing about the Jaycees is that it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new people in the community.

Secretary - Theresa Morano

Treasurer - Jennifer Kincaid

Jennifer joined the Davenport Jaycees in 2007 after participating in the first annual photo scavenger hunt where she made new lifelong friends. Jennifer is a Davenport native, graduate of Bettendorf High School and St. Ambrose University, who chose to come back home after graduating from St. Louis University Law School. By day, Jennifer is a partner in a small firm in Rock Island County and enjoys helping clients find solutions to their challenging issues. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Eli, reading, shopping, playing tennis, and scrapbooking. Jennifer's mom was a Jayceette in the 70"s so she felt drawn to this service based organization focused on impacting the local community in a meaningful way while making new friends and having fun. She is very excited to finally step up after being an active member for several years and join the Board as Treasurer for 2012.
